H2H Network case study: oPt activation 2022This case study explores how the H2H Network Fund activation for the May 2021 escalation of the conflict in the occupied Palestine territories (oPt) was able to rapidly fill gaps in the humanitarian response. As part of a series of case studies, the study also contributes to a lesson learned process. The series aims to strengthen the H2H Network’s activities and ensure their continued relevance and appropriateness. The study was conducted in January 2022 for the H2H Network by an independent consultant. A variety of sources including 10 key informant interviews, 9 project reports, the grant panel activation meeting recording (see box below, “The H2H Network Fund activation: How it works”) , and 16 additional documents informed the study.
H2H MEAL Model and GuideIn the complex ecosystem of international humanitarian actors, ‘global humanitarian services’ (HGS) offer specialised technical services to other humanitarian actors with the intention of strengthening the quality and/or accountability of humanitarian action. Monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) models available to HGS actors are often unsuitable because they are devised for humanitarian response activities. The six elements synthesize this material and are intended as a starting point for developing further tailored MEAL solutions and future iterations. It is a working document, designed to be adapted to H2H organizations' resources, capacities and ambition.
Get Ready Fund case studyThis case study explores how the H2H’s ‘Get Ready Fund’ activation in 2020-2021 contributed added value to humanitarian action. It examines how the H2H Fund activation and H2H Member projects made potential contributions to improving the humanitarian system. The study was conducted in June 2021 for the H2H Network by Itad MEAL advisers, using mid-term narrative reports from five grantees, six interviews with project managers, and one interview with the H2H Core Team. The study relies on self-reporting by the grantees (which does not allow for triangulation) and sometimes reflects the understanding of the analyst without further validation or review.
